we also visited Cape Le Grand National Park in Esperance. the beaches there have one of the whitest sand in Australia and the whitest I have seen. The water is crystal clear and amazing blue. These beaches are some of the most beautiful I have ever seen and Hellfire Bay is probably the most beautiful beach/bay I have ever seen.
one night we stayed in Nullarbor National Park at the cliffs and the next day we passed the border to Western Australia, drove 700km (because there wasn't anything as you can see in the video..) and stayed in the outback at a farm. :D the next day we went 200km from Fraser Range to Esperance and the temperature difference was about 20 degrees Celsius (45 in Fraser Range and 25 in Esperance). we also saw a bigger bushfire on the way.. in Esperance we saw some beautiful beaches. :) and today we visited Fitzgerald River National Park. :)
on our way back to Adelaide we came across a seal colony. :D we also saw and extinguished a potential bushfire! someone might have put their cigarette in this wooden bench.. in Mount Gambier we visited the Umpherston Sinkhole, Cave Garden and Blue Lake. :) afterwards we visited the Robe Obelisk and the Granites before we arrived in Adelaide, where we stayed in the Adelaide hills for the night and saw koalas. :D we visited the Excelsior Shipwreck in Adelaide and the HMAS Whyalla which was a minesweeping ship in world war 2. we also came past the Cummings Monument, which is located on cliffs. and now we drive along the south coast back to Perth. :D
in Melbourne we visited the Queen Victoria Markets and went to the biggest Casino in the southern hemisphere. we also went to the pier in St Kilda, where we saw the skyline of Melbourne. :) on Phillip Island we saw the smallest penguins in the world but we were not allowed to take pictures. :D afterwards we drove along the Great Ocean Road which was amazing and we saw the Twelve Apostles. :)
that night in the outback was pretty nice and we saw maaany stars. :D on the way to the south we went past a pretty big parched salt lake. :) we also came across the wine hills close to Adelaide, which was a pretty scenic drive. :) today we saw some albino kangaroos and went past the South Australia and Victoria border. we also visited a pink lake but it was also parched. xP afterwards we went to Grampians National Park. :) and now we are in Melbourne!
we admired Uluru a last time and went to Kings Canyon along the Red Centre Way afterwards. :) on the way we saw a mini tornado crossing the street.. xD and a closed roadhouse which looked like a ghost town. today we crossed the Northern Territory/South Australia border and are on the way to the coast again. :) we went past the dingo fence which is the longest fence in the world (5600km) and it was built to protect the sheep from the dingo. we also stopped at Coober Pedy in which many underground buildings are and where 95% of opal comes from. :) and tonight we stay in the desert xD
we made it to the red centre! at a few rest areas we saw these mobile hotspots to boost your phone signal because there is no signal outside towns. we also saw some termite mounds wearing clothes xD we stayed in Alice Springs for 2 nights and visited the Devil's Marbles and West Macdonell National Park. one day there was a dust storm which looked like fog and gave our car a new colour xD afterwards we stayed at Yulara for 2 nights and visited Uluru and Kata Tjuta. :)
in Darwin we visited the Charles Darwin National Park and went to Kakadu National Park afterwards where we saw the first bushfire. on our way to the outback we visited Elsey National Park, where we saw some flying foxes, hot springs and peacocks. we also went to a really small town called Daly Waters for fuel, where we saw this funny pub and junkyard. :P
the last few days we have been driving pretty far. we visited Geikie-Gorge National Park, the Grotto, Five Rivers Lookout and Kununurra. :) the day before yesterday we left Western Australia and entered Northern Territory, where we visited Litchfield National Park. :) over there we saw many termite mounds and some of them are huge (as you can see on the picture) and went for a swim in natural pools which sometimes are inhabited by crocodiles. we also saw a dingo over there. and now we are in Darwin, where we will start our roadtrip to the outback. :D
we celebrated NYE in Broome and fortunately, our car got repaired and we picked it up last year. so we are back on the road again! it took 9 days in Broome and 14 days in total for the car to be repaired. so we have to catch up now! happy new year everyone!
the last few days we rented a car and visited Cable Beach, Streeter Jetty, Town Beach, Broome Jetty, Gantheaume Point Beach, Bird Park and Wilderness Park in Broome. :)
again, I have no idea how many km we have been driving because our car broke down again yesterday (but I think about 3000km).. after Port Hedland we spent a few days at the Karijini National Park. :) on the way we stopped at a very dark rest area for the night where we saw sooo many stars. :) 2 days ago we stayed at the Eighty Mile Beach (~130km) and watched the turtles nesting. :) one of them came up right next to me to dig a hole xD
I have no idea how many km we have been driving because our car is still broken and has been at a mechanics for 2 days now. that is why we spent the last few days in Port Hedland. on the last picture you can see the track of a nesting turtle. :) btw yesterday was the hottest day recorded in Australia (~45°C where we are) and the next few days will get even hotter.
we spent the last few days in and around Exmouth (because our car broke down). we visited Cape Range National Park, where we also watched the turtles nesting and we went diving to the Ningaloo Reef, which is one of the longest near-shore reefs in the world. :)
yesterday we visited the Pink Lake and the Kalbarri National Park. afterwards we drove about 350km and stopped somewhere at the road in the middle of nowhere for the night. there we saw some emus with their babies. :) today we drove to Coral Bay where we saw this crystal clear water :D after that we drove to Exmouth where we stay over night. :)
